Summer Water Safety

With the official start of summer here, Union County Human Services would like to take a moment to provide some tips on how to stay safe while enjoying the warmer weather and longer days. According to the CDC, over 4,000 fatal unintentional drownings take place annually.

Taking swimming lessons can help prevent accidental drownings and save lives!

Underneath is a list of local organizations that provide swim lessons to Union County residents. Other neighboring organizations may provide these services as well. The color swimsuit that children wear can also help prevent accidental drownings. Wearing bright colors, such as pinkorange, and red, that are visible through the water can help draw attention to anyone that may be drowning. Remember, only swim in pools, ponds, & lakes with lifeguards on duty. See the fliers for more information.
