Offered services include:
Free or low-cost transportation to medical care, educational opportunities, jobs, errands, community resources, and recreational opportunities. All passengers must complete and submit a registration application before being able to schedule a ride. In addition to rides within Union County, transportation to medical appointments in Matthews, Salisbury, and Charlotte is available on select days and times. For those traveling specifically to Charlotte for work or leisure, or for long-distance travel, other services are available:
- CATS 74x Union County Express: An express bus service provided by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) that connects Union County to Charlotte. You can view schedules on the CATS website.
- Greyhound Bus Terminal: A terminal is located in Monroe for long-distance bus travel. Station details can be found on the Greyhound website.
- Medicaid Transportation: Eligible residents of any age can access transportation for medical needs through Medicaid. Contact the Union County Department of Social Services at 704-296-4300 for eligibility.
Specialized Medical Transport
- Drive of Faith (N.E.W.T.): This service provides non-emergency wheelchair transport to medical appointments, social events, or even long-distance locations within the continental U.S. They do not accept Medicaid or Medicare, and you must call 704-839-9455 for a price quote.
- Veterans Transportation Services: Specifically for veterans eligible for treatment at VA hospitals or clinics, contact 704-283-3807.
